Can you think of someone who has a luminescent glow that you can see on their face? At GlowKosherTallow, we know that beauty is not something that you can paint on your face, it is more than skin deep. That is why it is noteworthy that this website has come to fruition on Chanukah, when the dazzling glow of the menorah illuminates our lives.
The Glow of the Light
The sefira, or trait that is associated with Chanukah, is Hod, which means inner beauty and light. At GlowKosherTallow, our goal is to nurture this majestic glow, so you can look and feel beautiful, from the inside out, naturally. We do this by simply giving your skin the high-quality ingredients it needs to shine. Hod is not superficial or synthetic. It is an intrinsic kind of beauty that cannot be easily defined. It is even more than the sum total of pristine ingredients and the abundant bioactive compounds in our tallow balms.
Miracles Happen
There is a famous question, why is Chanukah celebrated for 8 days when the miracle only lasted for 7? There was enough oil to last for one day so the first day was not a miracle. One of the answers given by our sages is that nature itself is also a miracle. The miraculous is hidden within the bounty of the natural world which G-d is providing for us each and every day.
Ancient Wisdom for Today
Our ancestors understood this well. One thing that they used in a myriad of ways is tallow. There is something both primal and progressive about tallow balm, and we are increasingly becoming aware of its miraculous qualities in our modern age. When it comes to replenishing and rejuvenating the skin, tallow's vitamin and lipid content are second to none. Our ancestors may not have uncovered all the amazing qualities that make tallow unique, but they were well aware of the natural miracles that were laden in it. As science catches up with our ancient wisdom, we continue to discover the natural benefits of tallow. We are rediscovering the miracle of the oil that has been passed down for generations.
Hod as Humility
This brings us to another meaning of Hod, which is humility. In an effort to find the most advanced solutions out there in skincare, we are brought back to the simple things, like beef tallow. Tallow is one of the humblest of products. That is also why making tallow balm is so much fun. Anyone can turn something extrinsically beautiful into a beauty product. Like flowers. But with tallow, you start with something that may not appear to be aesthetically beautiful, at first glance, and transform it into something pure, silky and luxurious. There is something about this process of transformation from starting point to end product that is deeply "satisfying".
Hod as Gratitude
Finally, Hod also means gratitude and appreciation. We are full of gratitude to G-d, and we are also thankful to everyone who helped us in this venture, especially you, our valued customers.
Wishing you a Chag Sameach and Happy Chanukah
Warmly,
The Glow Team
